The dashboards were the giveaway. We had thirty-eight of them. Nobody could tell you what was on which one. Nobody could tell you which one to look at first. We hired people whose job was to maintain dashboards.
The thing Stradiva doesn't do is make better dashboards. It makes the same timeline answer all the questions, regardless of who's asking. The fleet engineer and the platform engineer and the on-call person and the support team are looking at the same surface. The path from "something is wrong" to "we know what's wrong" is one click long.
We didn't delete the dashboards. We just stopped opening them.
